Are you wondering what it is like to take part in a hybrid event? This is the perfect timing! KTLC 2022 is here, and if you hurry, you might find some tickets available!
This year, I will take part as a speaker, just like I did last year.
What is KTLC 2022 like?
Well, good question! KTLC is a merge of two conferences: one in English and one in Polish. Last year, it took place only online, but 2022’s version will be a hybrid one, which means that there will be some meetings and presentations online and others face-to-face. It will be held in Warsaw, Poland, but you can meet colleagues from all over the world.
“What are you going to talk about in your presentation, Veronica?”
Again, a fabulous question! My presentation is called Working with the EU and the US from the post-Brexit UK, and in it, I will do my best to address the following topics:
- What sort of documents or information do we need to provide our clients with?
- What should we include in our invoices?
- Do we need to register for VAT?
- Is it that advantageous for us to register?
- If we opted for registering, when do we need to apply it?
- How much should we charge?
What made me choose to talk about VAT and Brexit?
Creative Empowering Services was created quite recently, but we have already worked with institutions from the UK, the EU, and the US. As we learned about this on the go, we believe that sharing is caring, and we want to share our findings with all of you, especially if you live in the UK and operate as a sole trader.
We legally operate as sole traders. As we started growing and gaining clients in those markets, we had to acquire the so much needed knowledge on how taxes and VAT would affect our business, especially since our office is in the UK.
I am far from an expert, but I would still like to share what I have learned thanks to the help of my accountant and some very valuable information that I have found on the HMRC’s official website.
Why KTLC 2022?
Because, having taken part in last year’s event, I loved the experience of learning from other colleagues and staying in touch with them thanks to social media. That’s why I did not hesitate to accept the invitation of KTLC 2022’s organiser, Anna Lewoc, to participate again.
Furthermore, even if this year I was unable to attend the event in person, I really hope to be able to do so in 2023. Warsaw, there we go!
